From when the convict ship "Success" was first put on exhibition in Australia in 1890 to its subsequent move to England and America, the ship has always been of great interest to the public. This catalogue is made up of the 1890 and 1913 editions. It gives an insight of the life onboard the ship from when it first transported prisoners to Australia up to 1851 and its subsequent time as a prison hulk. There are also short accounts on those who were unfortunate enough to be the ship's cargo, or imprisoned in her. The ship was destroyed by fire in 1948. |
